About
Community – a group or collection of people.
Map – a diagrammatic representation of an area.
What do you get when you combine these two things? – Community Mapping.
Community mapping is a visual representation of spatial data that allows various questions or interests to be answered.
It does this in two ways:
- making patterns based on place much easier to analyze and/or identify.
- allows these patterns to be presented and explained to a broader audience.
In short, community mapping has allowed many people to visualize and understand the social and development issues that affect communities today.
